Mark's been in small and medium-sized businesses for 35 years as staff/management and/or advisor, Mark has particularly focused on planning, analytics, capital structuring, cash flow and budget forecasting, financing requirements and internal/external metrics. Services focused on value growth have included as co-founder of Charted Course Advisors and as founder of Fairview Financial Advisors (which is currently affiliated with Lincoln Financial Group). Since 2018, Mark has been the CFO of A.J. Antunes & Co. in Carol Stream, IL – formerly a long-time client and 65+ year old family-owned global manufacturer of commercial foodservice cooking and water treatment solutions. Antunes has assembly locations in the US, China and India along with sales offices in Europe and Africa. With a focus on the global quick service restaurant (QSR) chains, Antunes’ products are sold in over 150 countries. This role is slated to transition back to advisory in a couple years – to be supplemented by select advisory clients from a base in South Carolina. Mark holds an MBA in Accountancy and Finance from the University of Illinois at Urbana – Champaign and a BS in Hotel Administration from the University of Nevada – Las Vegas following formal training in Culinary Arts. Professional credentials include Certified Public Accountant (CPA) – Illinois (Retired) and Certified Business Exit Consultant® (CBEC®). He carries various insurance licenses in Illinois and has also completed the examinations for the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA®) designation. Recent volunteer board service has included religious, performing arts and social service organizations.
